Appears To Be a 1/2 Pint Whiskey Bottle We Found Years Ago!
in the ghost town of Castleton, Utah, just east of Moab. We found it in the dump area of what was once the
Castleton Hotel. It remains just as we found it, with a purple patina and a little dirt inside. There's a diamond mark on the bottom, that looks to be BCC. The bottle has a seam running diagonally across the bottle. It's in perfect condition,
no chips or cracks.
Old Medicine Bottle Found In The Cisco Desert!
This might have been an old medicine bottle found out in the Cisco desert, northeast of Moab, It has a beautiful crisscross
pattern on one side, and is covered with a purple patina. The bottom reads SHARP & DQH BALTIMORE MD and AG in the middle of the bottom. It is in perfect condition with no cracks or chips.
Old Medicine Sample Bottle Found In The Cisco Desert!
We think this bottle was a sample
bottle that salesmen carried with them. They could give potential buyers a sample of their product. It has no markings on the side or bottom. It has the shape of a
whiskey bottle, but much smaller, measuring just 4 x 1.25 inches. It is in perfect condition with no cracks or chips.
This Old Bottle Is A Real Beauty!
It has a pale blue color, and is in perfect condition. We found this at a railroad station site, on the old narrow gauge railroad, DENVER & RIO
GRANDE, that ran from 1881 to 1888, out in the Cisco desert area. The front reads : HAMLIN'S WIZARD OIL CHICAGO,ILL on one side USA on the other side A great addition to your collection
Bottle Found In An Old Cabin In The Green River Area!
We found this old bottle in an old
cabin out in the Green River area. It is embossed on the front and bottom. It has the letters JAF&CO on the front, which represents J A Folger Co., San Francisco, Ca.
Since 1850. The glass is clear, because it was inside the building, and not exposed to the sun or elements.
Old Mason Fruit Jar!
The first homesteaders on Wilson Mesa, just a little east of Moab, Utah, was Joseph Burkholder and Herbert Day. Wilson Mesa is about 7000 feet in elevation,
cooler than Moab, and perfect for growing certain crops. We were searching that area a few years ago, and found this perfect "BALL MASON" fruit jar. I identified the jar using http://home.earthlink.raclay/datingballjars. This jar dates from 1896 to
1910, and is in perfect condition. It's 5"X3", with a 2 1/4" opening at the top. Add it to your collection.
Another Old Mason Fruit Jar!
The old town of Marrs was located along the Denver & Rio Grande railroad, and is now only a memory with a few foundations dotted here and there. We discovered the site many years ago while exploring the railroad. The town
faded away in the early 1900s. We recently went back to explore the site, and found this old fruit jar beside a crumbling foundation. This jar dates from 1910 to
1923, and is in perfect condition. It's 5" X 3" with a 2 1/4" opening at the top Another one to add to your collection.
Old Bracelet Found While Metal Detecting The Old Ghost Town Hotel!
This is a real treasure. We found it while metal detecting the old hotel site in the ghost town of Castleton,
up above Castle Valley. One side of the band was broken loose from the center piece, so we soldered it back on, and reshaped it as round as we could get it. The center piece has fancy scrollwork and features fancy lettering in the middle. The
inside diameter is 2.25 inches. We buffed it up a little to make it look nice. This area dates back to the late 1800s, and early 1900s.
Old Copper Souvenir of Salt Lake City Pendant!
Made from copper, this arrowhead replica measures about 2 x 1.5 inches. In the center circle is the Mormon Temple. Around
the top of the circle is "Souvenir of Salt Lake City", and around the bottom of the circle is "Mormon Temple". There's a hole in the top so it can be worn as a pendant.
We found it while metal detecting along side the old jail house here in Moab
. It's got a real nice patina from being exposed over many years. It could date from the late 1800s.
Old Sheep Shears Dating Back To The Early 1900s!
While roaming around out in the desert the
other day, we came across and old camp that was once well used, but hadn't been used for many years. The only thing that we found of interest were these old sheep shears. The inscription on the blade reads: T.U.S.S. cooperative society 71
combination T U S, with a star in the center Sheffield England The shears are probably early 1900s, and are well rusted from being exposed to the elements. They are 14 inches long, and still have plenty of spring in the metal.

"Impressive relics found in and around the desert, deserted mines, abandoned rail lines and old ghost towns, rare artifacts we uncovered while searching the Moab Brushy Basin area."
Physical Properties: For those interested in collecting old Ghost Town relics has many benefits and can be very therapeutic in today's world where the past is easily forgotten. Collecting Ghost Town relics allows the collector to come into physical contact with history and with those who participated. It is a neat experience to read on a certain aspect of old relic history and then be able to hold and own an item that was actually there. Indeed, how many collectors have spent time looking at their collection and felt as though they had just taken a trip back into time!
Metaphysical Properties: While many of the items being touted today as genuinely haunted or possessed objects, the truth is that most of them are nothing but pure basement clutter. Be careful though when you are perusing the flea market stalls, thrift shop shelves and online auctions, because though quite rare, possessed objects are most certainly real. Whether or not our objects display paranormal behavior we can't tell you, because they haven't been in our possession long, but we do guarantee our items really do come from old Ghost Towns!
